May 20, 2025 Special Election
Notice of Special Election to be held May 20, 2025. The purpose of this election is to fill the positions and terms for the special districts within Umatilla County.
This list contains the open positions and vacancies that will be voted on May 20, 2025.
This election will be conducted by mail. Each candidate for an office listed must file a declaration of candidacy or petition for nomination of district office with Umatilla County Elections office not later that the 61st day before the date of election. The filing deadline for the May 20, 2025 Special Election is March 20, 2025.
If you would like to be a candidate on the ballot, complete the form (SEL 190) and return it to the Umatilla Elections office by March 20, 2025 at 5 pm. The filing fee is $10 or you may file by petition. A nomination by petition needs to be signed by at least 25 electors, or 10 percent of the electors, residing in the district for office, whichever number is less.

Important dates and deadlines
First day to file for candidacy is February 8th.
Last day to file for candidacy is March 20th.
Military ballots will be mailed April 5th.
Out of State ballots will be mailed April 21st.
Last day to Register to Vote is April 29th.
Main ballot mail date is April 30th.
Public Certification of the Ballot Counting system is May 7th at 3 pm.
Last day Umatilla County will mail a replacement ballot is May 15th.
